Minoritized Professionals' Experiences in Counselor Education
Findings from our review of research articles published between 2004 and 2019 indicated students and faculty in counselor education who identify as women; as people of color; or as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer or questioning face eight common types of adverse experiences. Implications for praxis and research are provided to support the profession's aim to diversify and embody inclusion
Marginalized Counselor Educators' Experiences Negotiating Identity
Counseling professionals who identify as people of color, women, and gender or sexual minorities commonly suppress or negotiate their personal identities due to experiencing adversity. We describe findings from a narrative inquiry of counselor educators' experiences negotiating marginalized identities. Implications for intersectional praxis-including reflexivity, mentorship, and power deconstruction-are discussed

The authors reviewed 114 articles regarding counselor education and supervision published in professional counseling journals during 2018. The articles represented a range of methodologies, providing insight into current supervision, teaching and training, stakeholder experiences, and professional issues. This research update includes a quantitative content analysis of 133 peer-reviewed articles regarding teaching and learning published in 21 journals of the American Counseling Association and its divisions between January 2011 and December 2015. A predictive model of adolescent persistence in counseling
This archival study examined personal and environmental characteristics associated with premature termination from, or persistence in, counseling among a sample of adolescents (n = 74) who presented for services at a community counseling clinic. The predictive discriminant analysis yielded a model with a 74.6% hit rate for counseling outcome.
