  • Forma mentis networks predict creativity ratings of short texts via interpretable artificial intelligence in human and AI-simulated raters

Open Access•Edith Haim, Natalie Fischer et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Computational Social…•2026•References: 53

Creativity is a fundamental skill of human cognition. We use textual forma mentis networks (TFMN) to extract network (semantic/syntactic associations) and emotional features from approximately one thousand human-, GPT3.5-, and Sonnet 3.7-generated stories. Using Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) we test whether features relative to Mednick’s associative theory of creativity can explain creativity ratings assigned by humans or AI raters. U…

  • Qualität in der Ganztagsschule – Qualität im Ganztag

Open Access•Pia Rother, Markus Sauerwein et al.•ARTICLE•Soziale Passagen•2024

    Open Access•Natalie Fischer, Stephan Kielblock•CHAPTER•Handbuch Schulforschung•2021

  • Topical emollient therapy with sunflower seed oil alters the skin microbiota of young children with severe acute malnutrition in Bangladesh

Open Access•Natalie Fischer, Gary L Darmstadt et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Global Health•2021

BACKGROUND: Topical emollient therapy with sunflower seed oil (SSO) reduces risk of sepsis and mortality in very preterm infants in low- or middle-income countries (LMICs). Proposed mechanisms include modulation of skin and possibly gut barrier function. The skin and gut microbiota play important roles in regulating barrier function, but the effects of emollient therapy on these microbiotas are poorly understood. METHODS: We characterised microbi…

  • Perceived quality of instruction

Open Access•Désirée Theis, Markus Sauerwein et al.•ARTICLE•British Journal of Educational…•2020•Cited by: 2•References: 40

BACKGROUND: Students' mastery goals are positively related to adaptive learning behaviour. Moreover, these goals often mediate the relation between perceived classroom characteristics and academic achievement. Research generally shows a decline of academic achievement and mastery goals after transition to middle school. Creating a learning environment at middle school according to students' basic needs for autonomy, competence, and social related…

  • Extracurricular participation and the development of school attachment and learning goal orientation

    Natalie Fischer, Désirée Theis•ARTICLE•Developmental Psychology•2014•Cited by: 7

School motivation and attachment typically decline after the transition to middle school. According to the stage-environment fit approach, extracurricular activities are supposed to promote motivation. However, research has shown that the effects depend on the quality of the activities, which usually is measured by assessing students' individual perceptions. This article adds to previous studies in examining effects of school-based extracurricula…
