Social TV is a modern-day phenomenon, combining communication, entertainment, education, and information functionalities within audiovisual content. This research examines the impact of these elements on audience engagement with social TV platforms in Jordan, framed through the Uses and Gratifications theory (U&G). Analysis was drawn from 375 social TV Yarmouk University users in Irbid, Jordan. The results show that communication, information, and education are significant factors that positively influence the audiovisual content of social TV. The findings also reveal a strong agreement among the respondents on the importance of these three factors in their preference for audiovisual content on social TV. Furthermore, respondents view social TV as an alternative to traditional television, attributing this to increased accessibility and a more comprehensive range of online content. The study concludes that social TV serves as a platform for online users to meet their needs in these areas, and its growing influence underscores its relevance in today’s society
